Real change is achieved with evidence, listening, and action.
Too many women are locked out of secure, well-paid jobs. [ENTER STATS HERE]This is not due to a lack of skill or interest, but because the culture and structure of many workplaces make it difficult to stay, let alone thrive. Inflexible work arrangements, unsafe equipment, and disrespectful workplace cultures are driving women away or keeping them out altogether.
The Queensland Women Rise Project is working to change that. Our project is built on research, designed with workers, and implemented alongside employers and unions. We focus on what matters and take practical steps to create real change.
Queensland Women Rise is a collaborative project dedicated to increasing women's participation and retention in the secure, organised industries of maritime, construction, and tranport. We recognise that too many workers are excluded or pushed out of these sectors because of inflexible work arrangements, and disrespectful workplace cultures. Our goal is to build workplaces where everyone is safe, valued, and able to thrive.
Change doesn't happen by chance. We started with research, listened to workers, and built real action plans with real workplaces. Here’s how we’re getting it done.
